A bush chain is quite like the roller chain. However, it does not possess friction – reducing rollers and is usually thus suitable rather for lower driving speeds. The permitted regular movement speeds of the slow-running bush chains range from 0.3 m/sec to 1 1.2 m/sec, with no more than 3.0 m/sec. Bush chains are most frequently found in applications requiring continuous operation under coarse working Cast Iron circumstances as well as procedure in warm and humid environment where the utilization of 
belt drives will be inappropriate.
